Hearthside Family Pets has done all that is possible to insure that your new puppy is in good health, and is a very social little creature, at the time of delivery to you. It is very important to your new baby's health that you continue to provide all necessary vaccinations, a healthy diet, regular veterinary care, adequate living conditions and lots of TLC. To start off right, it is necessary that a licensed Veterinarian examine all puppies within 72 hours of receiving the puppy. If the puppy is purchased on a holiday or week-end, then the puppy must be taken to a licensed veterinarian on the following working day for examination. If your regular veterinarian is not available, you are required to take the puppy to another veterinarian or this guarantee will be null and void. Please start a folder of puppy's medical records and be sure to keep a copy of this first check-up. For this health guarantee to remain valid, owner must keep puppy up to date on all necessary vaccines and medications necessary - relevant to the local area you live in.

Hearthside Family Pets will have the puppy checked by our Licensed Veterinarian before leaving here, and a health certificate will be issued, stating that the puppy has been inspected and found free from visible signs of infection, contagious or communicable disease. Please do not take your new puppy into public places unless absolutely necessary, until the puppy has had all its vaccinations (as recommended by your veterinarian) to insure immunity against disease.

Your new puppy is guaranteed against life-threatening genetic defects for the period of 2 (two)*years from date of birth. If a life-threatening genetic defect is found within that time frame, and is verified by Hearthside's licensed veterinarian, a replacement puppy will be given. For this guarantee to be honored, the puppy and all registration papers, and veterinarian records must be returned to us. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. Hearthside Family Pets will however pay shipping charges on a replacement puppy back to the purchaser. In case of death, an autopsy or postpartum diagnosis is necessary, and medical records will need to be sent or faxed to our veterinarian. He will review the report and have final say about the cause of death (genetic or non-genetic cause).  If you have already bonded with, and decide to keep this puppy, you will receive one-half of the agreed upon original purchase price.

All veterinarian charges incurred by the purchaser are the sole responsibility of the purchaser, and will under NO circumstances be paid by us, Hearthside Family Pets. ~ Basically the purchaser / owner of puppy, acknowledges that puppy ownership involves vet bills and fees.

A diagnosis of coccidia, giardia, parasites, kennel cough or any other type of bacterial infection does not render your puppy unhealthy. These items can be found on the ground, in water, and public places, and are treatable conditions. Parvo is also not covered by this contract / guarantee, as the puppy would have only received 2 vaccinations prior to going to their new home and family. We vaccinate on schedule, and will not (to the best of our knowledge) send out any unhealthy puppies. Hearthside Family Pets is not responsible for any illnesses / diseases that the puppy could acquire after leaving our premises. All puppies are checked by our Licensed Veterinarian, and are found to be in good health before leaving here. If there is any thing found at their check-up, you will be notified of that right away, before puppy leaves here.

Although our puppies are bred to AKC standards, and most have excellent conformation, we can make no guarantees of "Show Quality". Our main concern is to raise beautiful, healthy, and happy companions. We also cannot guarantee adult size, color or temperament

Take great care to protect your puppy from getting lost, stolen, or from danger or abuse. There is no guarantee against negligence.

Thank you for adopting your new family member from Hearthside Family Pets. We truly wish you many years of health and happiness together.

Sincerely,
Jeff, Mary Ann and Rebeccah McGregor

* Hearthside Family Pets also offers a 5 year (from date of birth) genetic health guarantee. To qualify for this, you must continue to keep your puppy on NuVet vitamins from the time you purchase him or her through the 5 year period. They keep your pet's coat in excellent shape, and are very good for their internal organs. Go to the NuVet Vitamin website (www.nuvet.com) to find out more, and to read some of their testimonials.

The purchase of a puppy shows agreement to these terms.
